Sorry about that. New links added in place of the expired links you mentioned. Thanks for pointing this out!

You're very welcome. It takes a bit to get the hang of how to utilize the Seasons files but it's well worth it if you do so. When I decided to undertake creating this, I never dreamed I'd need to make well over 1000 files to do so lol

Dear ABSOLUTE MODDING TEAM, may I convert the CanAm Mod to GTL to be able to drive it on the Altbierbude servers? That would be a great Christmas special for ABB. If you allow it, I would omit cars that don't have a "real" steering wheel in the cockpit, I noticed that with the McLaren Chaparral, or I did something wrong when converting ...
THX for reply and best wishes

Hi Micha m8, this mod is busy being updated for GTR2 with some badly needed modding work by Loose Ether and new skins that I made a while ago. Hopefully, it won't be long before release then I will probably do a GTL conversion if that is okay by Antonio.

That would be cool. I'm grateful for any help my friend! There are so many fantastic cars there. Hopefully there will be permission.
Glück auf!

That's great news! Here's hoping there will be some improvements to the 1967 cars and in particular the Lola T70 Spyder.

Here's some of the T70s to whet your appetite... please realise that the templates for these cars are anything from 1 to 20 per car, making it extremely complicated to get skins right, plus the polygons are quite bad making painting almost impossible in places.

Liveries looking great! Yeah, I remember having a look at the Lola some years ago and was surprised of the many different texture files needed for the car body.

Still based on the ancient SCGT CanAm mod?

Has anyone converted the Lola T70 from Rfactor 2 (with permisson or..) It has over 18 historic skins and is a lot more smoother and accurate model?
I did a basic conversion of crossply's T70 quite a while ago for personal use. I believe I converted version 3 or so, and it may not include all the latest 3d or skin updates to the car. Current issues are shading and inoperative gauges (and possibly driver positioning, been a while since I played with it). It runs using the physics hmmguy made for the scgt model. If someone is interested in finishing my work and releasing it here (with credits to crossply of course) I'd be happy to share the files.

DBR I am just starting to work on converting cars, I normally known for my track conversions. I would like to look at what you have done and take a shot at it. I will only release it back to you when finished. I want to compare it to the current release and upgrade yours. So yes thanks would like to take a look.

Well, I guess I should say something here about the update that Gee and I have been working on and its current state.
Gee had already finished the skins quite a while ago and it is essentially me that is holding it up. Sorry about that Gee. Life changed and I don't have the time I used to have to do modding, although I have helped out a little here and there on other mods.
Everything I am going to do to the mod re: cockpits, file structure rewrite, missing sounds etc has also been finished for a while so the only thing that is left for me to do is to finish the different showroom floors. The floors are nothing special but I do think they are a nice addition.
Anyway, I will have to make a decision soon about whether I'll finish the floors or just scrap them so the update can finally be released. Oh and of course there are also the biks and icons for the GTL update.....only ~150 cars !
So even though it really should have been finished by now, progress is stalled but not stopped !

DBR I am sorry I thought I sent you a response. Thank you I did receive it. I hope we can finish this mod with proper updated cars. AC released a mod for several cars that I hope can be converted as well.

This update is dedicated to the memory of Phil Jones aka Hmmguy, without whom we wouldn't have this mod to drive like we do !
.....And there I thought I would just bolt on the showroom floors, pack her up and bung the update out the door. It didn't work out that way as I ended up doing quite a bit more to bring the update, well, up to date
UPDATED : Cars : - Finished cockpits. Finished as in steering wheels (with correct axis), animated drivers both internal and external, working gauges (where there is .car file data to make them work. All cars have working tacho). These are just generic cockpits and have not been (re)modeled in the style of the car they are in. - Driver helmets and suits for each driver - not necessarily historically accurate. - Exhaust smoke. - Working mirrors - some cars to a greater or lesser extent than others. - Brake lights. - Complete sounds - repackaged under a sounds\Can-Am folder, sorted by car group. - lots of little work patching and plugging holes in the car models with various levels of success - they are pretty old models. - Repainted from scratch by GeeDee. - Chaparral 2E & 2G updated with some new parts from a modern model (Forza) - Rear wing, mirror, windshield and exhaust pipes.
Interface : - Uniform showroom floor for all cars. - Tech sheets for all cars. - Championship graphics and info.
NOTES : * - Internal view adjustment - As you hop from car to car, you will have to adjust your seating position but there is plenty of scope provided. To adjust, I have driver position up/down, forward/back mapped to the mouse buttons. * - Championships - Not in this initial package as I wanted to get it out for Christmas. Will follow soon. * - AUDs - Even though the sounds have been collected and organised into a "sounds\Can-Am" folder, the original AUD files have been retained, renamed as <audfilename>_orig.aud, if you prefer to use the sounds as set up in Phil's original release i.e not download this sound package, although I'd recommend to use the new sound package as it has ALL the sounds in the one place and there is no need to rename all the AUD files. * - Mistakes - I put in a lot of time to get this finished so it could be released for Christmas and there were a lot of files to rename and/or edit so I may well have made a few mistakes in my rush. Let me know if there are any problems * - Original documentation is in the Can-Am folder in a folder named "Original docs". * - Hmmguy / Phil Jones - Let us not forget Phil. RIP mate.
INSTALLATION : 1. If you have the original mod then : - delete it's folder "CANAM" from the gamedata\teams folder. - From gamedata, delete : SIM_Absolute_Can_Am.gdb SIM_Absolute_Can_Am.tga SIM_Absolute_Can_Am.txt SIM_Absolute_Can_Am_The_60's_Cars.gdb SIM_Absolute_Can_Am_The_60's_Cars.tga SIM_Absolute_Can_Am_The_60's_Cars.txt SIM_Absolute_Can_Am_The_70's_Cars.gdb SIM_Absolute_Can_Am_The_70's_Cars.tga SIM_Absolute_Can_Am_The_70's_Cars.txt
This will stop the old mod "class" selection screens from showing. You won't (shouldn't) be able to choose any of the updated cars from these screens anyway so they might as well go.
2. Standard package for standard install. - Copy Gamedata folder from package to GTR2 folder. There shouldn't be any files overwritten except for the talent files (these haven't changed). 3. If you are installing the sounds package, repeat step 2 for that package file.
Merry Christmas everyone.
I hope you enjoy the update that Gee and I have done and remember to drive these beasts like you stole 'em !!
