| Hey, it's me again. So, I have downloaded a lot of American muscle cars in the last few days and now I want to create a new car class, where only these cars race. I know how to create new classes, but my "problem" is, that I must tell those ~100 muscle cars that they are in this new class, which would take hours and days to edit every single .car-file of every car. I also looked in those .car-files, whether there is one class, that every muscle car has in common, but no other GTL-car has, but that's mnot the case. Does anyone know a more simple or faster method to edit these .car-files? Is there maybe a little software which can do this? | |

| GTL Cartool I believe will do what you want: http://www.nogripracing.com/details.php?filenr=31114
Pick what you want before racing and works a treat. I almost have 5000 skins in my main install now and consider this program a MUST.

| Thank you! As I see, this tool doesn't edit the classes, it just deactivates the whole car. So, if I understand this correctly, I just have to deactivate all cars except the muscle cars. Good thing! | |

| Yes. I used to do all the class additions and stuff too but then also saw somewhere that there is only so many you can do and also "extra" cars can sneak in anyways. This method works much better in my opinion. | |

| I use the GTL car tool and it works very well. You can make your own classes together as you want to have it. It is a good tool especially if you have lots of MOD's and skins in the game. And it easy to use. | |

| Another good tip. If you have more than 1 install of GTL, then put a copy of gtl car tool in each install, just drop the car tool folder in the Main GTL one, This way you have to open the correct car tool & don't mix up with any others | |

| Thank you guys, I tested the car tool yesterday and it worked very well. Now I can race my Mustangs along with the other musclecars without having a VW Scirocco driving between us and without having to edit like a hundred .car-files. Thank you for the tip, rickoshea, but at the moment I have only one installation of GTL, because I just startet to add new cars. So there are not so many cars, that I loose the oversight, just about 580 at the moment. | |

| I also suggest when you use it, that after a session you click it back to all the cars as it dies weird things when adding/subtracting skins to your install if you do that a lot as I do. Heehee. I once ended up with a bunch of car folders with both car and Xcar files.....the Xcar is what they are when cartool changes them so they don't show in game. As insurance so next time I fire up GTL that I may have forgot what I had checked off or on, I just reset it before closing after a session of GTL. | |

| Hey Den.! Yes, I already do this everytime, 'cause I thought when starting the game for the next time, I will wonder why there are just a few cars and so, I don't have to wonder. ^^ But that's truely a good reason to reset it every time. Thanks for the advice! I must correct my own last post up there, it's not 580, it's 740 at the moment. But I've seen serveral screenshots of other peoples garages, where it says "400/1400" for example. Could take a while to add so many cars, but I only add those which I really like and are fun to drive. | |

| I hear that! I only "own" the cars I want to race. And though there's quite a few skins in my install, I also made this one based on what I've learnt before and been working on this install since November last year. A bit at a time. For instance I VERY seldom use those cars converted from rFactor as most are utter crap, especially graphicswise. (Same reason I don't like rfactor! Among others....). My goal is to have a SIMULATOR, not a cartoon. lol. | |

| It's why I prefer GTL and GTR2 and their mods because they're consistently better quality as a rule. | |

Yes, I know those cars and I try to avoid them. When I see a download without a screenshot, I constantly ask for one. I have a McLaren M1A in my install that looks like painted with MS paint and also the external camera position is really crappy. I should remove it finally. ^^ The numbers in your screenshot are really stunning! 4949 cars? You cant even see 1 % of them in one race. How many tracks do you have?

| Well, tracks, I'm redoing the AIW right now but I think my locations folder when I separated them (those done and not done) said something like 480 folders and that with ones that have multiple versions....I don't really know! Pretty much most of the stuff at noGrip plus a few other versions, though to be honest I tend to use the same 10 or so..... More tracks then i'll ever have time to uase! And well, yeah, lot's of AI cars but also works for me as I never know which ones will show for a race and seldom see ,my own stuff even though there's quite a few of those too! I like the variety because also for me GTL is a sim where sometimes I just immerse myself and look at all the pretty cars go by!! | |

| 480 is really huge as well as your car number. It would e nice if there waas a "shuffle-function", so you never know on which track you race when you go for a single player race. Oh yeah, I love it too to never know which cars will race against me. ^^ | |

| Yeah. The Mini Cooper S alone has 193 skins, before even getting into the add on Minis. heehee. And I love to do races in the minis so it makes it interesting not seeing the same cars over and over again. It took a lot of work to get to this point and I always back up to make sure after all this work I don't have to do it all over again!!!! Plus if I add anything that causes a problem, I can just use my back up to fix it. | |

| Yes, Mini Coopers are very fun to race. My uncle had a Mini like this in "real life". of course no race car, but an original Austin mini with double-pipes in the middle of the back with brutal sound. Very fun to drive, although my head constantly had contact with the roof. Back up is a good point, I should do this too. ^^ | |
