[WIP/RELEASE] Alfa Romeo T33 "Periscopio/Fleron"

gloss looks superb

Todays progress:

I finally remapped the headlight front and rear textures (didnt have working taillights till now). Also as you can see on these pictures i added 3D belt and fuelcap models:



For reference, this is what the brake lights look like:




Regarding the gloss/matte question, i decided to go somwhere in the middle, it works well with the LMC cars, but it does make the mesh look a bit rough, i might still change this in the future.. I also made the 2 variations of mirrors, the high (on a stick) and low (directly on the body panels):







Next up is the rainshield and wiper, after that the cockpit finally.

Well, the project is coming to an end slowly but surely. The cockpit is done, everything is working, everything was retextured (again), made the first skin today, 4 varieties of headlight glass and a freaking frankenstein easteregg, more on that below.. Also working on some P&G showroom info:












Now to the "monstrosity"... I had a weird idea, why not take the front from the periscopica, the rear from the ABLMS T33-2, rescale and fit everything together and make the 67 T33 Coda Lunga.. Well this is the result:





Tell me if you like it and whether i should include it in the mod. It has different physics too, less drag, less lift, higher standard gearing..

ALSO not to forget, i made special sounds for this baby, by recording the samples from Assetto Corsas 33 Stradale (i hope this isnt too illegal ). It sounds crisp and harsh and it screams just as it should and as it would be expected from Kunos derived sound files. It also has a nice atmospheric effect on the exterior sounds. Also, i dont know how or why, but on the interrior sounds when you nail the upshift it makes a cool sound when the RPMs drop, that way you always know whether you nailed the shift or not, pretty cool.

One final thing, i cant get the damn RPM light to work, can someone please help? I followed the example of LMCs Ford GT40 MKIV, but cant get it working..

Regarding the skins, im good for now, but i may need skinning help on a future project (ill make a thread here when the time comes).

Other than that the car is pretty much complete and in the testing phase.

Very nice! Can't wait to take the #190 car for a spin around the Targa! As for the look of the skins, my vote goes to make them slightly dirty as long as it isn't too much.

Agreed, i bit of dirt splattered around and behind the wheels, fenders also at the front, there is no such thing as too much detail

Also 190? must have something to do with it being driven by Jo Bonnier

My opinion: I prefer the skins clean, as if they were going to track now, in a Classic race in nowadays.
What do you think to have both options to choose, at least to the Coda Corta (Periscopio) in two or three cars only, as we have in an old Austin Healey Rallye car (dirty or clean), in GTLegends?

The solution could not be any easier my friend: Offer both as a users choice.

And also I would like to extend my congratulations for the excellent job you have been doing with this beautiful piece of history.

For me the clean option is preferable a choice would be good tho.

Brilliant work.

So i decided to give you 3 options, clean/shiny, clean and dirty. Here is how they look in that order:

Also i learned some basic 3D modelling and edited the Coda Lunga. It is now pretty much prototypical, made the arches lower and stick out, filled the grilles, made the cover/hoop wider.. Its not perfect but, yeah, considering my skill level as a newbie, im pretty much happy with the result.





If the final bit of testing goes well, the car could be released this sunday, if not then during the week.
