| I have a theory that simple skins are often harder to make than complex ones If there's a lot going on then the eyes are distracted and it's easier to fudge details and hide any imperfections but on simple skins you have to be very precise for it to look right. The Red Rovers Capri nearly drove me up the wall I just thought it'd be a simple matter of taking the Boss 2 body, flaring the rear arches, adding a different front spoiler and sticking on some lettering What I did find are lots of small details that needed adding like scoops, bulges, door latches, running lights and boot straps. Then I had the task of painting lettering that overlaps arches that are stretched even more than before and suddenly a simple skin turns into one of the seven tasks of Hercules But eventually it came together and it looks like something Max Rockatansky would race if he'd come to Blighty instead of chasing Toecutter around Aus; I think I'll make a start on the Group 1b cars next and give my sanity chance to recover

| Can anyone suggest some good V8 engine noises? The Special Saloons ran unsilenced back in the day and the GTL Corvette ones I'm using just don't seem right... | |

BLT's Chevy Monza has some custom sounds that sound quite mean IMO. Take a listen.

It was a guy called Bill Cox. He raced the Capri from 1969 and I believe it was the first one to have a custom chassis fitted and used highly modified XK140 suspension. It was originally gold and sat quite high with huge wheels. It was featured in Hot Car magazine (I'm sure I have the issue somewhere) and was known as the WRC Capri (William R Cox). I'm gonna make that version too if there's time.... Have a look here: http://www.modbase.info/bill-cox-wrc/4594186819

| Recognise the name but not the car. I've Tony Rosen's and Welly Potter's Capris photos in here somewhere. | |

| Well the years of the Special Saloons aren't tied to '74. The yellow Boss 1 and Strawberry's Capri are the same car after all The white Boss 2 car was raced in '75 with Adlards livery by Martin Birrane so I'll likely paint that version as I'll be doing his Group 1b for the Castrol mod and the livery's aren't all that different. I've got some pix ready for Welly's Capri but I'll probably release that as an add-on later otherwise I'll still be doing this next bloody Christmas | |

| I've Birrane's car in 1975 Brown with an orange stripe. I thought Doug Niven bought Mick Hill's Capri. | |

I was going on what it says here: http://mickhill.net/adlards/4592657362 Wasn't it the MK2 Capri Special Saloon that Nick Whiting built that Doug Niven raced? I know i've read all this recently but my memory is crap at the best of times...

| That was a Mk2 Escort that Nick Whiting built. Dave Brodie had a MK2 Capri in 1975. | |
