DKW AutoUnion 1000S 4 Door - WIP

Great car Diego,
                       fits nicely in the 50s saloon car class which is slowly evolving from all the great recent older car stuff.
There existed an "east car " mod which contained a Wardburg 3cylinder with  exactly the right sound if I rememember correctly.
So the forum request is, does anyone still have it on his HD?

That's usually a HDC error where the brake overheating temp is lower than the optimum temp, easily rectified.

Paste the actual message here is it "cool brakes" if so delete message in Sounds\pit\cool_brakes_pTc.wav

GTL does not use pit message's so not needed the car probably used a GTL HDC file and was modified to suite.

Hi Diego! Excellent job done, the car is perfectly modding.
Maybe be could you help me? I'm trying to use the "no bumpers" option, using the 4th digit in genstring, but it does not work. How could I have no bumpers in the car?

A very nice vehicle, but I took the engine and the sound from the Melkus mod by speedster, everything else is physically the same.

The sound of the Melkus corresponds to that of the Wartburg, so it is also a three-cylinder two-stroke engine. I think the sound is very close to that of the DKW, as the Wartburg engine was also based on the DKW engine.

There is only this one option for the bumpers, but I could make you a version without bumpers.

@Tanjaschnute: Thanks mate. I would appreciate that. Maybe erasing the respective lines at the .cas file?
In fact I don't want to have no bumpers option in all the cars in future. Let's see.
As Diogo said, this is only a WIP version, released for our enjoyment and to judge some error or mistake.

@fatguts thank you for the tip about the brakes. @Tanjaschnute i need the DKW without the bumpers. What must i do in the genstring?

if you change the entries in the .cas, this always applies to all vehicles, but if I make "Style 1: with bumpers" and "Style 2: without bumpers", then everyone can make the vehicle the way they want it.

Good find on the Melkus Mod added the engine and gearbox plus sounds car races really well now.

I coupled the Melkus engine (100 hp) with the original DKW 4-speed gearbox and achieved a top speed of approx. 200 km/h.

I had the same idea concerning the use of the RX-3 sounds.
Sounds better than expected but not like an original 2-stroke.

A nice to drive but slow car. However the 2-strokes ever needed high revs.

Not checked the melkus files nor the "Ostalgie" sounds.

As for the car, it is still in development, I need to add bumper options, wheels and some other things, this was just a sample to know if I am going in the right direction.

As for the Sound, it is clearly not correct, I recommend the Mazda RX3 just so you have some sound.
Matteo sent me the extracts, a YouTube video so I could create them, I honestly have no idea how to do it, but I'm going to try.

As for the power of the car.....I only gave it 100HP, keep in mind that I am pointing to a car from the early 60s, where only some aspects of the mechanics of an original factory car were improved.

I apologize to the people who perhaps expected a more "spicy" car, but my goal is to recreate the cars that ran in the 60s in my country, such as the Fiat 1500 Berlina/Coupe, Peugeot 404, this DKW, and possibly I'll make some more, especially microcars.

I'm going to keep working and try to improve it as much as my ability allows me.

Thank you Diego for this nice car. I´ve searched DKW for GTR 2 for over 10 years. You are the first moddeler who create a DKW. I like this car in Germany has this car a long history. The DKW was built in West Germany. In the GDR the car was built under the name IFA F9.

DKW was Part of the Auto Union. The other parts are Audi, Horch and Wanderer.

Maybe I' wrong, but I remember having seen a picture of a DKW racing in Australia
(no idea if it was a 1000 or a F12) at Bathurst (?). Unfortunately I cannot find it atm.
