| Yippeeee ! Got the new rig runnin'.... Computer died on Xmas, just got back up this afternoon.....
I used to use a Sound Blaster X-FI-Fata1ity-SuperDuperSnazzy PCI card in the last machine. This new one has "NVIDIA High Definition Audio" on m/b. I'm having trouble finding Win7 drivers for the old PCI card, and was wondering if it is really worth it to install an old PCI card, or does the new onboard stuff work ok these days......Whattya y'all think ?
I need to start loadin' some sims,...........bye............

| It depends what speaker system you use, I used to use a Soundblaster card myself but now use onboard, and its really quite good, you won't get all the versatility you get with a dedicated card, but the sound quality is still HD and sounds fine, Do you have a good 5.1 system?? | |

| Nah, it's an old Logitech 2.1. I tried it out last night and the sound didn't seem that much different, mayyybee a little less bass, but that may be in my head from the way onboard used to sound. I may just use the onboard and save the card for an older computer that can use the "help"......... | |

Onboards do tend to use some of the system resources, whereas cards like Soundblaster etc have their own processor | |
