GTR2 Screenies

I'm just about to hand over the car to Mark Donohue when drama appears in the pits during the first hour of the 1967 24h Daytona race. I didn't see what initially happened but the Canada/Hines/Kelly Triumph TR4 came in with full-blown flames appearing from the engine compartment while the Andretti/Ginther Ford Mk II was just seconds behind it into the pits but didn't caught fire until it was stationary in the pit box. My guess would be that they made pretty heavy contact with each other just prior to the pit entrance when the Ford left the racing line to dive into the pits (same fuel tank capacity as my Mk II and I left it late to come in). Hopefully both drivers are okay but I never saw any of them coming out of their cars...

Where is that Mercedes in the first picture coming from?

It a "squashed" version of Freeracers GTASA conversion from miki mays original. Matteo74 did the nice Michelob skin for it. I'm trying to give some cars a more GTO like vibe, I'm very liberal as to what can run in GTO as long as it looks somewhat the part..... Still need to figure why paint is bleeding to wings and dams.....

The GTS class is a great catch all for one offs, orphans, or other nice cars that don't really have a populated class to run in......

this Mercedes was not "converted from Gtasa", it was a crude mod SLC 450 std from Nfs4, base for the creation of this racing version that doesn't exist anywhere.

I just copied what it had in the readme............

I keep playing it man, just I stopped making car mods,

understand, you waste a lot of time converting, editing and etc, and then you end up not liking the result..I look at my works and I don't like them, ugly, poorly finished, etc... and there's more... the worst thing is that after another guy came and put a couple of new skins and a couple of commas in the physics and then re-publish the mod (being that he could add the skins and their commas next to the original mod) and get dozens of likes for that... for me rh lost the grace, isn't funny anymore

If you talk about the one whose "mods" consist of "clearer screens, modified suspensions, better gear ratios, tuned engine for more competitive racing, Pirellli tyres" I can say that you're not the only one who stopped sharing his work because of him.

Now, almost all the good modders have disappeared from sight but the clowns remain, releasing and re-releasing mods made by others years ago, getting a bit of fame from the newcomers who don't know (and don't care) who did what...

Most modders including me drìve with proper racing wheels a lot of original mods are undrivable
you can't even get round two corners without going off the track let alone have a decent race.

Remember all mods can be improved upon in some way, of course if the original mod still exists people have the choice of using the original, if they don't like the modified one then don't download it.
Why have a racing game if you can't have a good race with your chosen car & have some fun with it.
I am sure that is why we are all on here.

I don't remember having ever driven an "undrivable" car in GTR2, so it may be that those undrivable mods are undrivable for YOU but not for others, so it's not the fault of modders if you don't know how to drive.

Also, improving mods is OK of course, but you seem to have a high esteem of yourself as you have never improved any mod but quite the opposite actually. You're a destructor of other peoples work, that's all, and nothing else.

What's your "work" man ? Destroy the physics people have taken days, weeks or months to achieve, add two or three crappy skins, put your name everywhere "my Wingnut car, in my Wingnut mod, in my Wingnut download section", that's all. How long does that take ? Half an hour ?

I don't privately talk with many people on this site or Trackaholics, but 3 REALLY GOOD modders have cited your name as the reason why they stopped sharing their mods. There are certainly more, but even just 3 good modders Vs you, we all have lost. Even you, because this leaves you with less material to "improve".

Driving a car is different to racing it you know that and so I there's room on these sites for everyone

If you're not even able to simply "drive" a car, I don't know how you could pretend to "race" it.

Anyway, you can continue the conversation by yourself, I'm off. As my grandmother used to say "Ain't no use talking with dumbasses, they don't understand shit".

Did you see? Do you know when I will publish the Bathurst addons, the new TCL add ons, and hundreds of megabytes of improvements over my old gtr2 mods? And for free?? Never again. The reason you can see here on this page..Anyway the Gtr2 modder scene seems to be languishing.. I recently returned to the sister site and I confess to being disappointed. Except for one mod created, there's nothing new, just old mods sucked to the bones and re-released full of bugs (as usual) and one of the best modders I enjoyed working with has left the scene. So RIP Gtr2.
