Here's a little mod I'm doing first for myself. Because in fact I simply collect what is interesting in several existing mods to make this one, I haven't create anything, I'm just a burglar...
It's a kind of NEED FOR SPEED PORSCHE... 2020.
Only the CLASSIC ERA is actually done. There could be 3 other eras : GOLDEN, MODERN (until 2000, like the real game), and... POST-MODERN. In each era there are 4 classes : 3, 2, 1 and Racing.
Because all the mods and sounds that are used, I'm afraid this one would be very very fat...

Remember this one: http://trackaholics.forumotion.com/t17-fb1-race-taxi-aka-the-porsche-powered-vw-camper-released Nice project!
Oh yes, I remembered, but I only wanted cars designed by Porsche (Ferdinand, or the firm). Normally I should have considered only the 1938 Volkswagen 1100, which is the "ancestor" of the 356 and the 911, but it was out of the race (a kind of "class 4" of the classic era), so I added a 1948 1300, and a 1966 1302 Götting.

That looks like excellent work...I always liked to blast around the tracks in the Speedster and Spyder! Maybe even the 912, getting a little sideways...very fun!
Best of Luck!

I have this waiting in the limbs of my projects folder. It was more or less the same idea as yours, centered on the archetypal modern sports car ever built, the 911 (the 901/911 types). There are its ancestors, and a few would-have-been successors, 924, 944, 928, 959, no modern model. They are mostly GTL cars converted to GTR2 and reworked to use the extra features like rain on the windshield, lit dashboard, PnG tyres and physics (when available). There is a mix of fantasy and historic skins. I have reworked or completely redone lots of historic skins that were really crappy.
But there is still a loooooooot of work to do...

There's always something to improve : graphics, engine, sounds... Sometimes we have to give up on perfection, otherwise work will never end !
