They already did thanks Soze. As I mentioned before, I can run the striped cars if I take the plain ones out or I can run a striped car if I am driving it and the rest are plain skins. Just dowgarn weird man!!

| If you give each car a unique driver name then you will see those skins There seems to be a limit to the number of .car files that can have the same driver name AND display a separate skin for each car in game. It's just a guess but after observing many 35 car races using just your skins GeeDee, the maximum skin number seen was 13. That was until I started to change the driver names. Oh and to save some heartache with GTLCarTools pooping itself after installing these skins like it did for me, I suggest doing either : 1. make a folder inside your XJ-13 folder. It Doesn't matter what you call it but for argument sake call it teams. Now put all of GeeDee's skins and car files in the teams folder. OR 2. Create a folder for each .car and .dds (skin file) pair, using the 6 digit number from the front of the filenames as the folder name. Sure this is a lot more work but I think much more complete and elegant. Not to speak for the author, but It looks like GTLCarTools is tripping up because of the original car residing in it's own folder and all of GeeDee's skins loose in the XJ-13 folder. A conflict of sorts but anyway, if this happens to anyone else, the solution is above | |

| Loose Ether is right! I just finished changing all the driver names to other than Rupert Keegan. Here's a screenshot of a 20-car field (4 are behind me; I'm in the #30 car), and each car shows up as a correct paint as GeeDee meant them to be. Click on the image for a larger pix... | |

| PROBLEM SOLVED thanks to Loose Ether
UPDATED DOWNLOAD now vers.2 02/06/2015... all cars now work together.
Please sell and delete any previous skins before installing the new ones.I've painted 27 quick skins. 13 plain with roundels and 14 of the same colour but with a simple stripe and roundels. These are available for download but in GTL format . If you want them in GTR2 you will need to change the .Car file Classes="___" to suit GTR2. http://www.mediafire.com/download/wo083aac9g8j5eu/Jaguar_XJ13_1966_27_Skins_V2_GD.zip

..and thanks for the fix, Terry. I've a prob with CarTools at the moment, so i can't load these or any other cars, but you've given me an idea how i might be able to fix it. Can't try for a month or so, as i'm away from home, but cheers, mate! All the best, Les. I pretty much added that stuff about GeeDee's skins and GTLCarTools with you in mind Les...

| A bit more on GTLCarTools that should help you if all else fails, Les : So, in GTL (and GTR2) we have .car files that describe all the necessary additional files and parameters for a car to appear in game. GTLCarTools presents the user with a list of all cars found in a GTL and/or a GTR2 install and allows you to select and deselect these cars so that when you run GTL (or GTR2), only the cars you have selected in GTLCarTools will be available in the game. Essentially what it does is scans your GTL and/or GTR2 install for .car/.xcar files (.car = active car, selected / .xcar = inactive car, deselected). When using the program, all cars/teams that you deselect have their .car files renamed to .xcar and all cars/teams that you select have their .xcar files renamed to .car. This way GTL (or GTR2) won't 'pick up' the .xcar files at runtime and include them in the game as it only recognises .car files. Simple and elegant way to handle car garage management. So at the very least, you should be able to hunt down the .xcar files from your GTL install ( GTL\Gamedata\Teams\) and rename them to .car.When I say .car and .xcar I am referring to the files that have the file extension of .xcar and .car.To manually turn cars back on you change the file extension .xcar to file extension .car and if you want to manually turn cars off, change the file extension .car to .xcar | |

| I also did some skins for this car and opened a tab for it in the GTL/Cars section (didn't notice thsi one) Three of those are fictitious "what if" from the most iconic Jaguar race teams in the 60's and late 50's: Briggs Cunningham, Ecurrie Ecosse and the in-house Jaguar Racing Team. These colours were worn by C-Types, D-Types and E-Types, so these are inspired by those cars as if the XJ-13 ran alongside them. Actually two of those skins have already been tried out in scale cars, and look great, so I based mostly on those. The other three skins are loosely based on replica cars, but actually I just wanted to paint the car in dark blue, silver and red because it just looks great in those colours. You can download my skins here:DOWNLOAD SKINS | |
