| I think I got it now ...
As I know the touring car championships those days were based on FIA Group 2 or Group 5 (Group 5 Special Touring Cars existed only from 1966 to 1969 then followed by a totally different Sportscar Group 5 from 1970 to 1971 with cars like Porsche 917)
National touring car championships those days usually based on Group 2 or 5. European touring car championchip at the beginning based on Group 2, then for only two years allowed Group 5 cars until regulation changes and the end of the old Group 5. They went back to Group 2 then, but after the end of Special Touring Cars Group 5 more modification in Group 2 was allowed.
Now my question is if the Group 1 cars those days run together with the Group 2 cars in the same race or in different races. As far as I know there were often different races by engine displacement at the bigger race events. So first for example the cars below 500cc like Fiat 500, then up to 750cc, 1000cc and so on.
The BMW 2002 would have raced in 2000cc, but I don't know if the Group 1 cars raced together with the Group 2 cars. Maybe it depended by the size of the race event and the numbers of starters?
I'm to young to know ...

| The latest news about the project : Added three "new" steering wheels : This one comes from the original CSL with some small adjustments. This one is from the original CSL too, with a few modifications and the removal of the stickers on the branches. I prefer to use the wheels of the CSL, with their wider and thinner rim they fit the 65-75 era better, and they allow a better view to the instrument panel. The last one is a variation of the 2002 mod wheel, with metal finish center instead of black. If you know of any wheel from the game that would fit well in the 2002, please be free to tell me, as I've not taken the time to look farther than the only BMW available in the original game. Now the two modifications that took me a lot of time : the upper body chrome trim and the lower side trim. I had to make them almost from scratch, and for the lower trim, had to modify the bottom of the wheel arches. It may not be completely accurate but I'm quite satisfied with the result. I'll still need to darken the painted area below the trim and add the jack supports (painted or 3D, I don't know yet). I'm thinking about adding an optional (via genstring) second seat for a copilot in case somebody makes (or already made) a rallye skin for the car. And maybe include the copilot as well... Don't know yet. Any comment welcome... That's all for now. Next step, more optional lights and some license plates... And add the plate lights on the rear bumper. |

| @ Ramsmeir:in these days Group1 cars were the cheapest cars to run with so there were many and they made series with Group1 only cars.Group2 were often running with Group4 cars and sometimes performances were very similar. The Capri 2600RS were faster and lighter than the Ferrari GTB Daytona and close to the Porsche 911S so races were very interesting depending on the track of course. | |

| The Cromodora of the Lancia Fulvia are perfect to imitate the Schnitzer ones [img] [/img] This is the other BMW 2002 but that works with both. | |

They sure look great. The question is to know who did those wheels so as to ask him permission to use them in the mod. I do not have the Fulvia in my game, can you tell me if the name of the author appears somewhere ? |

| Here's the readme: - Quote :
- Lancia Fulvia HF
I make a "restoration" of the Lancia with a few new things, like a new grille, front and rear lights, interior, wheels, and more. I change the *.cas and damage files with detachables parts. New motors 1.2 HF and 1.6 HF. with 118hp and 159hp. and physics.
All this new stuff is possible with the help of Nappe1 and Gavin. Thank you very much guys!!
Thanks to Sharpo for give me a permission to use the Mini's steel wheels Thanks to SCCA1981 and RMI for give me a permission to use the car. And CY-33 too, becuse I use some 3D parts of the Corolla engine.
The Genstring is
1 and 2: is the pilot style 3: is the front panel of the car with 2 optinon 1_Black (without glow) and 2_the color of the car normal paint 4: is the front grille with 2 optinon 1_Black and 2_original crome grille 5: are the wheels with 6 options 1_Abarth's alloy wheels 2_Original 1.2HF steel wheels 3_Four spokes alloy wheels 4_Four spokes gold alloy wheels 5_Original Campagnolo gold alloy wheels 6_Original Campagnolo alloy wheels
This pack have a Template.
Everyday I learn new things to make this modifications with help of this comunity If you find a bug, please send me a PM, I try to fix it, if you can fix, please release it, is better for all.
So, this is it, I hope you like it, and like always sorry for my english

| Some news about the mod. It's still going on, slowly but steadily. - The Cromodora from the Fulvia have been added to the choice of wheels (with due permission of course). - Different additional lights are available in different configurations. The white ones work but I've never been able to have the yellow ones to light, and believe me I tried ! - A stock exhaust is now available. It comes from the Alpine and went through heavy transformation to fit in the 2002. - Rear plate lights have been added, in either US or European configuration - I have made a front bumper with a modified rear bumper. - I have made other small modifications such as rear blinkers looking more like their real counterparts, modified a few textures and so on... The mod is not yet finished. I want to add license plates and modify a few things in the cockpit... Here are a few pics to see how it's looking like at the moment. |

| Excellent work Kikoya and hughely appreciated. One remark on the wheels, if I may. Wheels look good but don´t fall into the trap of wanting them (wheels and tyres)to look too wide. In the 60s & 70s Wheels and tyres weren´t as wide as we´re used to today. And a small request, could a set of original steel BMW rims be added in the mod, if possible?
Admire your work and look forward to any further progress.
Cheers, Seniordan | |

| Yes, the wheels on the black car are far too wide. Those come from the TVR, I've adjusted them to the 2002 in diameter but not in width yet. They need to be narrowed by a third at least like the wheels in this pic : As for the stock wheels, I'd like to add a set if I could, but I'd need a pic to do so and I couldn't find an usable one anywhere on the net. Since the last post I have modified the rear panel to include the plate supporting embossment : Now that exams are over and that I'm on holidays I have more time to work on the car... |
