I have fond memories of the beautiful scenery, and seeing that VIPER RACING tracks could be converted, I was wondering if they could be as well ...

I still have this game for PC; won't work on my current system though. It was a very cool game & the tracks were great. Smile

Yup, very much ! Best NFS in my opinion. Starting with the intro, then the menus design, music/sounds, then the ideea of the game, track, cars etc... I just loved everything about this game. The next NFS was such a flop compared to Porsche Unleashed.

I agree, best NFS ever
several modded cars were made by people still active today
I still have the game too but will not work from XP onward
some fascinating tracks with sounds of surroundings as you past by (I recall countryard animals sounds in one , church bells in the mountain track) - the snowfall was also nice
several different models of the 356 were available, really nice to drive (not as realistic as GTL though)

I too have this pearl, and still playing in Windows 7 Professional... I think i install this game two times per year to play, and found a 917K mod to put in the game!!!

They look strangely scaled to the environment, like they were large RC cars...........everything around them is so big....

Yep, that was one of my big bug-a-boos reguarding console racing...and is still a problem with some tracks for the GTL/PC environment....

Well r0mor two of them were converted to "Mercedes-Benz: World Racing" several years ago: Corsica & Normandie, as you can see in this site: http://krom.reveur.de/index.php?t=mbwr_scen Very Happy
