Strange behavior of the trace file.

Hi guys,

As I often use the trace file (you know why many CTD), i noticed that i was not getting the latest version (directly after the crash) but the edition of a previous crash , or even a version of the day before.
Have you ever encountered this problem ?

Are you running as administator? If I dont run as administrator then I will not get a new trace.

Yes. I don't know when, but one day, without changing anything in my computer, i became for every CTD the penultimate trace file. I had to start a new race, then new CTD and i could see the trace file that i wanted to read ! I probably should rewrite the command, and see what happens.

The trace file is written each time your run the game. Try start up and select a "standard" car
to a "standard" track. Get the car to load to the track successfully then exit back to Windows.
You should have a clean step-by-step run.

I usually look at my trace so it is often a "My Recent Documents" link.

Thanks ! I found the problem.
I made like you said. It made me think that the launch of the game was made trough the GTL_Xcars software ! (to avoid too many different cars)
So i tried the four "standard" Austin Healey 3000 at Anderstorp :
- Trough GTL_Xcars: no better result.
- Starting GTL by itself: solved !
I have (tomorrow) to do other tests with mods or new skins, to confirm this.

GTL CarTools is a much better program for omitting cars, i use it all
the time & Always get the correct Trace file.

I just miss the power/weight ratio that is displayed for every car in GTL_Xcars.

I had this problem also when I installed GTL RunAff
(you know, to set processor affinity to all CPU cores)

after a few times noticing the trace file would not update, it struck me as obvious...

I had forgotten to write the trace file command in the RunAff path destination...

now my RunAff path looks like this

F:\Games\RunAff_v1.3\RunAff.exe GTL.exe "F:\Games\GTL" 01234567 5 +fullproc -trace=1000

and it works!

maybe there is a way to change the command line in GTL_Xcars too...
