Offline I mostly drive in open practice mode when testing cars and the number of participating cars seems to be given randomly by the game between 2 and 5 cars I assume.

Does anybody know whether there is a way to increase and/or fix this number of cars in open practice mode?

The only workaround is the race weekend qualify. I suggest you to edit the length of the qualify session to a very long length.

Could you use a Car garage mod e.g. xcars to limit the number of cars available for the AI to chose from?

Or have I miss-understood the question?

It's just the number of randomly chosen cars by the game in free practice not the number of
vehicle types.

Never tried xcars or other car selectors.

Even after more than 10 years GTL there are still thing to explore Rolling Eyes
