Old Hardware

While going through the motions of having to move from about 17 miles away from Laguna Seca to movimg to Las Vegas!!, ouch, (it turns out it's a grandma thing,) hard to fight,....., I found 4 Sound Blaster sound cards and a 9800 GT viddie card. 3 of the sound cards are "LIVE" models, the 4th is old.....Seriously, it's hard to throw this stuff away, but tell me boys and girls, can I chuck this shit without feeling guilty....?

LOL----during the ever evolving tradition of computer complexity we all have reached this impasse--what you could do is donate it to an organization that upgrades old computers for underprivileged kids.
My computer is about 9 years old but still does what I need it to do---I've only updated the video card about 7 years ago. At some point it will have the usefulness of a doorstop I'm sure.

That's what I'm going to look for, somewhere around here that trains, or as you said, provides pc's for kids, just found about 8 or old hard drives too......you really forget this stuff! My pc is about 7 years old with a GTX980, maybe a viddie card upgrade will by me another 7 years........! Cheers whipcracker!!!!

Does not matter what spec PC you have as long as it runs the programs you need it to why change it
The only thing I would recommend that every one uses and that are SSD drives these will speed up any computer with no chance of getting corrupt data due to bad sectors that normal HDD drives suffer with.

I have an intel i7 built it myself and with a GTX960 7 years old now also, its been used for 12 hours every single day over that period. I desperately want it to go wrong so I can build myself a new one.

PS: I look in the mirror every morning and think well there we go another bit of old hardware lol. .
