Car Classes & Missmatches

I don't know if anyone else suffers from this problem,
but every car i like in all the classes cannot compete with the others..

For example- TC class, isuzu bellet, mk2 jag, i love these cars,
but they get their asses kicked by alfa's & cortina's..

GTC class, AM DB4 & E type, nice cars, slow as F**K

Now the Maserati 300, 10secs a lap slower than the 450 & 16secs
slower than the birdtable??

WTF... we need to- "Level the Playing Field"

Maybe have a new - "Dog Slow" class for all the Mongrels

With me, for example, even if I changed the engine in 300S (I'm using another kind of Maserati stronger engine), this car remain so much slower than always, comparing with 450S.

Of the basic idea, I agree with you.
If for example look at the real technical data of the two Maserati, one must realize that there are already major differences.

I created a new file for the ENG 300S (272HP @ 6500rpm / 314Nm @ 5000rpm)
but there are time differences to the 450S.
In Bremgarten54 there are still about 6 seconds, and are in LeMans60 20Sekunden approx.
Sure, we could adjust by changing the power the vehicles, but it really makes sense?
Then already rather a new class for the slower vehicles, ensure fair competition can take place.
It's no fun when the car looks great and it only runs behind.

I agree with Deep-Strike. Differences between some cars must stay as they were.
We are driving sim and not arcade.
It's the reason why i prefer to choose the cars with GTL_Xcars : there is a ratio weight/power for each mod/car in this program.

As MG had to use a Mercedes 300SL engine in this Mod, my option was used some engine more close to real car (and this engine used by MG is very, very close to real car!!), and i had an old one in my HD (3.0-litre , approx 245 bhp (183 kW) at 6200 rpm) , used also in T61 Bircage. Obviously is much less powered of 450S, as indicated its project! I only try to be
closer than real car, and, as i had this engine in my HD, was easy to change!
But I agree, as we have a simulator and not a arcade game, we have to use physics as close to real car as possible!

I think the main problem is to get correct technical data of vehicles.
Many different information can be found on many Internet sites.
But which is correct?
And there it begins to find a reasonable compromise.
If you find original data on the manufacturers page this should be the right, what else?

Tried it several times at Watkins Glen & it's 7secs a lap quicker??
Will have to try it against the db2 ect..

Maybe some brasilian pepper in the fuel??
Remember to check your tyres! Probably you have ones with incredible grip, as I have! Try to change it, so!! But it's very quick! Remember it's a WIP yet!

As i installed the new P&G yesterday, immediately after all my icons turned
to- Win 95 style, so i left it to get some dinner, upon my return every time
i fired up my pc i was greeted with the "Blue Screen" of death

So, i've now had to fit my spare C: drive in, but have lost about 25 tracks i
was working on, also the fix for Gordon's Maserati Wheels..

Aaarrrgghh - bad luck.

Had no problems at all with dl and install of P&G V3.
DL in less than 30 minutes via rapidshare link and
install as recommended by GTL-Workshop-team.

Hope you will be back soon in full extent

I think that the P&G install i did & my pc's demise was just a Coinkydink

Had a chat with Duckfreak just to inform him of my "untimely" issue,
& no-one else has reported this fault..

So, i think we'll put this down to what the GI's called- "FUBAR"
