| Hi Guys,
Can anyone tell me how to remove a safety car from a track... I have no tools except my keyboard, I did a rough conversion of a great track from GTL to GTR2 to keep me going until the real one turns up but the damn safety car is parked across one half of the road in races, in practice it's fine I just can't race there without massive pileups eventually wiping out the whole field.
The original Author was reluctant (but might) to convert it as the GTR2 cars would be too fast but... well, all of my GTR2ing is done with GTL-GTR2 cars so they should be OK, I'd hate to bug the Author again but the seasons are passing and this is one track that you need to race at to be complete. | |

| Not sure where this is from, it's a few years old, give it a shot.....
GTR2 uses GridIndex=103 for the grid position and TeamIndex=51 for pitbox locations of the safety car.
Open up the AIW file with any text editor (such as notepad).
In the Grid section of the file create a GridIndex=103 entry by copying an existing block of data. Replace the gridindex=103 POS= and ORI= coordinates with the ones found in LocationIndex=0 of the AUX section.
In the PIT section of the file create a TeamIndex=51 entry. Replace the Teamindex=51 PITPOS = and PITORI= coordinates with the coordinates of LocationIndex=1 in the AUX section.
That should fix your safety car positions.
It's a few years old, didn't write down where it was from, but I think it was irjky and Everfresh Cranberry discussing it if you want to try a search.........

| Hey Joeschmoe... it worked I just did a 3 lapper and all worked as hoped, cars returned to the pits and the safety car was snug up the front visible but out of the way... Thanks so much. Thanks for your thoughts on this as well Teddy, but as you can see we've got it sorted now! | |

| The problem Teddy was not mine ...I could SEE that there was a car in the middle of the track... the AI are blind all the way to the flag. Better with healthy competition though. | |
