67 FIREBIRD????

67 firebird-the missing trans am series car.....Just wondered whether anyone was doing a 67/68 firebird for GTL? If not can someone have a crack at it? Really need this one for trans am racing.

How about the Jerry Titus #26 car?

I have a Firebird. It's pretty much complete. The main problem is that it has no template. I have tried to get a grasp of the template thing but apparently I have'nt tried hard enough since I still don't have one yet. If anyone here can make one I will finish it for sure and and let it out of the barn.

The firebird looks fantastic, thanks for posting the picture. We've got to get this one in, i haven't a clue about making templates myself, really hope someone can help with this.

Could maybe doctor up the 67 Camaro template, as this was
almost the same car..

It is the same car Rick, minus the front grill, rear tailights and frt. bonnet (cowl induction vents).

Heck, a 'boy scout' like me could even massage the '67 Camaro SS template and come up with some very convincing results, but I don't feel up to it...I'm too lazy.

The car is totally new. It would have to have a new template for sure.

In the pic it looks very similar to the '67 Cam SS scca1981 released years ago. Now I'm really confused.
Care to share any more info. on the 'fire chicken' JD? What platform did the 3D model come from, or is it a private 'scratch' model from the likes of yourself or a modder you are acquainted with?

It was a free model that I found sometime ago. It had an enormous amounts of polys. It took me a long time just to get it down to a reasonable size. I really don't think that it has been used in any other sim.

Has the car been mapped and unwrapped? Do you have a shading layer? Thats the part that always hangs me up.

No. The chassis gmt is using a solid color dds to paint everything that uses wc_team_body1_pa. I have not been able to figure out the mapping and unwrapping thing. The good news is that I am just about finished with everything that I can do with the car. If all else fails I will release it without a template and hope that someone takes an interest in it and makes a template for real paint jobs.

If the author of the car mapped it, I can unwrap it fairly quick, but burning a shading layer eludes me. I can make a temlate without a shading layer if you wanna send me the car but if you can get someone who can make the shading layer it would be much better.

You could ask Sid at Trackaholics or HPI, ithink they're good at shading..

jd you have some very nice cars in your pics that we have not seen yet in GTL (at least, as far as I know...)

Just wondered if anything was happening with the 67 firebird? Would be great to have this car in the GTL.
