What causes "On-Line MissMatch" error? (And what doesn't)...

Hi All,
I know the answer at a simplistic level and understand the reasons why. But I was wondering if someone could provide a definitive list of what you can change in your GTL installation without getting this message when trying to join an on line race.

I'm not wanting to sneakily shoehorn a Chevy V8 into a Mini, fit a set of very sticky tyres or anything like that to gain an unfair advantage but was wondering if I change the *.aud file for example to point at a different sound set would that be a seen as a mismatch on-line?

Also when I see the message it usually comes through "chat" from another driver.. Does the "Mismatch" being reported relate to their install compared to the Server or their install compared to mine? I don't see any errors reported if I am the only person who joins the server.

So, as I'm at great pains to make clear I'm not trying to find a way to circumnavigate  anything but it would be nice to know what none performance enhancing modifications I can make without upsetting the on-line police.

You cannot change any physics, tyres, wheel sizes unless the game permits.

You can change the skin of the car and that's about it really.

Ah, ok Thanks GeeDee I had a feeling that was going to be the answer..

The Engine Shape and Throttle mix parameters etc are very similar in both "aud" files so I'll try substituting the original sounds with my preferred selection and renaming them to match the originals as appropriate. I guess that way it becomes no different to simply installing addon sounds which I'm informed is not an issue.

You can change/modify sounds and some graphical stuff (for example yellow lights) without getting that message online.

I assume that this message is caused by any change in the gdb-file (for example adding/creating an new class)
