Hi folks, as you may know, I'm working diligently on creating a new version of Antonio7772's Can-Am Revelations aptly named 2.0 I was wondering if anyone here may like to pitch in on improving some of the cars by adding cockpits along with the 3 most important gauges...a tachometer, oil temp and water temp gauges. I know how to set them accurately once in place but have zero clue with 3dsimed to put them in in the first place. What I have in mind is simply adapting what already exists in the 917/30 cars as done by a friend that is now too busy with real life. I'm not looking for historically accurate cockpits though that would be nice to have eventually but rather that each car just have a steering wheel and the above mentioned gauges added. You can see in this pic what it is I'm hoping to get done

What I'm hoping/asking for is to have these 3 gauges added along with the wheel. If a driver was also added would be great but not necessary. A number of the cars already have working steering wheels and just need the gauges added.

If anyone is interested in helping to do this, it would be hugely appreciated! I found driving the 917/30 with an actual working cockpit greatly improved the feasibility of driving from that view by comparison to when it was just a painted dash and no steering wheel. As mentioned, I'll take care of setting the gauges once installed. You can respond here or via pm if you'd like to assist me with this. Smile

well, it's been nearly 10 days and 67 views and no one has commented. Is it a lack of interest behind it or simply nobody wanting nor able to help with improving the cars? To let you folks know just how much the car models have been improved, the entire original mod was 243mb and today, just the car models alone are 243mb due to the massive amount of work put into them by PhilRob! They are an entire game generation ahead of where they began. I'll still be releasing the mod whether all the cars get cockpits added or not but the addition of a cockpit greatly improves the experience and the ability to drive from that view by a large margin. Just wanted to mention this in hopes of someone stepping up with this task.

Normally, I don't reply to things I know nothing about, but I do a lot of GTR2 > GTL conversions, but cockpit creation is something of which I am extremely ignorant. Just so folks don't think I'm dodging the issue, FYI...

thanks for saying this MOF Very Happy I appreciate the feedback whether you're willing/able isn't a problem as me neither lol. I was just starting to wonder if there indeed was any interest from the community here as a whole aside from just a few us. The difference PhilRob has made I swear is an entire generation of racing games/sims better! When I saw the McLaren M12 Chaparral after he was done with it was quite the shock Shocked bounce bounce bounce Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy He also managed to correct a number of mirrors as well as added some where they were painted before. He has placed gauges into a number of cars but don't work yet. My being able to set them once working remains moot given this lol! There are now 9 out of 83 or so cars in total with a proper cockpit, accurate gauges and drivers completed. I realize this sounds sort of off-putting to anyone thinking about helping to improve this but that 83 or so cars are actually including every skin as the 917/10s has 12 team cars. All in there are 41 (I think) individually different cars but again, in some cases, the only difference is the hdc, eng and aud files that are different so when you factor that in, there are even that many more less that are truly different from each other where the cockpit comes into play. There were already a number of them with existing real cockpits with a functioning wheel and seat and the mirror fixes by PhilRob I mentioned but painted gauges again. Mad Sad Evil or Very Mad Twisted Evil Sad Sad All those cars need are for the gauges to work and where painted, a working version where the painted ones are currently. As I'm sure you'll agree MOF, that's something I consider "magic" still in modding as I'm just too blonde to comprehend it. Question Question Shocked scratch Rolling Eyes No

I'm afraid this kind of job might be beyond the abilities of many members. I wish I can help but my knowledge is limited, my work on updating a BMW 2002 is painfully slow and there are still a lot of things I don't know ! To import three gauges from another car doesn't seem too difficult, I can try it if you want, but creating a whole cockpit for the cars is way beyond my competence !
