Couple of cars not showing in showroom/crash to windows

Aston Martin DB 5(revisited) and Ferrari 250 GTO downloaded from here today do not show up in showroom and crash to Windows when I try to drive them even in Open Practice. Help please. Thanks

Check you have the helmets.gtl file and the correct stex files in the correct place

So where do I put these and what are "stex" files?

Found the stex files and everything seems to be in correct place but still not working with the Aston Martin DB 5 or Ferrari 250 GTO. Crash to windows during load.

Just checking...you are running GTR2 and got the files stex_gtl.gtr and helmets.gtr in your gamedata\teams folder ?

Yes, running GTR2 and have the stex_gtl.gtr but the helmets file that I downloaded is .gtl. Where do I get the .gtr one?

Interesting that other cars I have gotten here and elsewhere worked fine without that "helmet" file. Seems like it was only the Porsche 550 and 356 and now the Aston Martin DB 5 and Ferrari 250 GTO/64 I just tried that crash to windows when I try them.

This "helmet file" is only with MG's cars and Mods, but not in all of them.

Take a look at this information from Marian, made a few years ago:

"...2nd, about your problem: if the game CTD, then I think there's a missing file that causes the problem. At the moment, this is the only file I can think of that might be the cause of your problem: mediafire.com download/31nh53ut7ynssw3/Helmets.zip . It's a special HELMETS file and I made it so that the helmets don't use 2 Genstring digits anymore, but just 1 digit. This way 1 digit is saved and could be used for some other parts."
You must put this in Teams folder.

Both mod's are searching for the file" helmets.GTR" so please just rename the "GTL" extension into "GTR" and you should be fine.

No joy! Still doesn't work and I am trying the original MG Ferrari 250 GTO/64 not the reworked or whatever new version. Not showing the car in showroom or during Select Car view. Oh well.

Delete mods that are not working download and Reinstall
Set graphics detail in game ie player car to max
Set opponents car details to max
Set all shadows to medium
Use a grid of only 5 cars to test
Have you got the correct tyres installed for the car ?
also is the correct racing driver GMT installed that is being asked for
in the mods .cas file ?

I take it you are running the GTL-GTR2 Mod.
check again the correct .Stex files & Helmets.gtr are installed (critical)
as being called for in the mods .cas file.

Double check all these things.
